The Knight of Pentacles sits on a plow horse that is not going to gallop, reviewing a field he will cross at exactly the planned speed. He is the boring strategy executed flawlessly: the automatic monthly buy, the index position that never gets clever, progress so methodical it registers as stillness to anyone watching for excitement. Among the four Knights he alone finishes every campaign he starts — a statistic the others consider unsporting.
