Seven of Cups
Cups · card 43 of 78 · too many options, castles in clouds, speculative daydream, unmade choice
Upright meaning
Seven cups float in the clouds, each holding a different prize — a castle, a dragon, a laurel, something glowing that never gets explained. The Seven of Cups is the speculative daydream: the watchlist with forty "next big things," the sector where every company will supposedly win, the plan composed entirely of upside scenarios. Every cup is genuinely tempting and at least one contains a snake. The card's demand is simple and brutal: choose. Diversified daydreaming is still daydreaming, and clouds hold neither castles nor cost bases.
Market notes
Pairs with speculative manias, crowded thematic trades, unfocused portfolios, and stories outrunning revenue. Read against a frothy 30-day trend driven by scenarios rather than results. Under this card, ask which cup the money is actually in — and which is vapor.
In the spread
In a past, present, future spread, this card takes the meaning of its seat: what has already happened, what is happening now, or which way the story leans. The position changes the tense. The card does not change its mind.
