Six of Pentacles
Pentacles · card 70 of 78 · capital returns, dividends, buybacks, the weighed gift
Upright meaning
The merchant holds scales in one hand and distributes coins with the other — generosity, audited. The Six of Pentacles is capital returned: the dividend declared and paid, the buyback that actually retires shares, the special distribution that arrives instead of being teased. Giving and receiving are both positions here, and the scales matter more than the coins: sustainable payout ratios, returns funded by earnings rather than borrowing. The card blesses the balanced hand and squints at the theatrical one. Charity that requires a press release is marketing.
Market notes
Pairs with dividend declarations and raises, executed buybacks, healthy payout ratios, and shareholder returns funded from real cash flow. Read against a stable 30-day trend of a business that can afford its own generosity. Check the scales: source of funds is the reading.
In the spread
In a past, present, future spread, this card takes the meaning of its seat: what has already happened, what is happening now, or which way the story leans. The position changes the tense. The card does not change its mind.
